What is a PDF audit?
PDFs: what to do with them! In many organisations, PDFs are a tricky issue. How do you make PDFs digitally accessible? Are you going to archive them or fix them anyway? This PDF audit will give you a clear picture of how digitally accessible your PDF is. This is the first step towards making your PDFs digitally accessible and the complete safeguarding of PDFs in your organisation.

This is how a PDF audit at Cardan works:
1. We pick a date
Together with our planner Femke, you choose a suitable time to have your PDF audit(s) carried out. Would you like a consultation? Then indicate this in the contact form at the bottom of this page.
2. The sample is determined
Based on the size of the PDF document, we determine a sample (if necessary). If it is a small document, we audit the whole document. We pick out the special pages. For example, pages with tables, graphs, many graphics and, for example, pages with many images.
3. The PDF audit is started!
Our researcher gets to work examining your PDF document. We do a manual inspection based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2 AA). These meet the legal requirements for the Digital Government Act and the European Accessibility Act.
4. View the report
Within 3 weeks, your audit report will be ready in My Cardan. This report is available in HTML, PDF, JSON and CSV. This report features all our findings, suggestions and solutions
