How an Mobile App Audit Works at Cardan
1. Planning together
With our planner, you’ll select a suitable time for the audit. We’ll also schedule the consultation and free re-examination.
2. Determining the sample
Following WCAG-EM methodology, we select a sample of around 20 screens, including key features such as forms, videos, images, and tables. Where possible, screenshots are added to the report. This method is developed by the W3C.

3. Conducting the audit
Our researchers perform a manual review based on WCAG 2.2, Level AA. These criteria align with the requirements of the Digital Services Act and the European Accessibility Act.
4. Receiving your report
Within 3 weeks, your report will be available in My Cardan. It comes in HTML (ready to use for your accessibility statement) as well as PDF, JSON, and CSV formats. The report includes findings, recommendations, and solutions.

5. Online consultation with a WCAG specialist
Discuss your results with our auditor in a personal consultation. Together, you’ll explore solutions for any criteria that were not yet met.
6. Free re-examination
Around 15 weeks after the initial audit, we conduct a re-examination to check whether your app’s accessibility has improved.
