This is how an app audit works at Cardan:
1. We pick an appropriate time
Together with our planner Femke, you will choose a suitable time to have the app examination carried out. We will also schedule the advice interview and the free re-examination with you .
2. The sample is determined
Based on the WCAG-EM, we determine the sample of about 20 screens. We select special pages. For example, pages that contain forms, videos, images and, for example, tables. When the app allows it, we put screenshots in the report. This method was developed by W3C.
3. The app audit is launched
Our researcher starts the audit! We do a manual inspection based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2 AA). These meet the legal requirements for the Digital Government Act and the European Accessibility Act.
4. View the report
Within 3 weeks, your audit report will be ready in My Cardan. This report is available in HTML that can be used right away for the accessibility statement. You will also receive the results in pdf, JSON and CSV. The report is provided with all our findings, suggestions and solutions.
5. The online consultation with our WCAG-specialist
In this online consultation, you can ask all your questions to our WCAG auditor. Together, you will spar about solutions for success criteria that do not comply (yet).
6. Time for the re-examination
By mutual agreement, the retest is carried out 15 weeks after the start of the first audit In it, we audit if the app is more digitally accessible after the first audit!
