WCAG 2.2 checklist: are you already compliant?
In the course of this year, we expect a new version of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.2. Starting with WCAG 2.2, we will examine websites, apps and documents for 57 success criteria. Our WCAG 2.2 checklist lists the guidelines that tell you whether your website is digitally accessible.

What is WCAG 2.2?
WCAG stands for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. 2.2 is the latest version.Previous versions are WCAG 1.0, 2.0 and 2.1.
WCAG consists of 3 levels: A, AA and AAA. For WCAG 2.2, we will examine websites, apps and documents for 57 level A and AA success criteria.
For governments and semi-governments, WCAG 2.1 A + AA is currently the legal requirement. We do not yet know whether WCAG 2.2 will also become a legal requirement. We hope so, as there are a number of positive improvements in WCAG 2.2.
The new success criteria in WCAG 2.2
WCAG 2.2 adds six new success criteria at levels A and AA. You can read all the new criteria in our WCAG 2.2 checklist.
And now what?
WCAG 2.2 is not yet final. This gives you the opportunity to prepare yourself well in advance. Check in advance whether your website or app meets the new success criteria with our WCAG 2.2 checklist. You should especially check the focus display (2.4.11 and 2.4.12) and the dimensions of clickable areas (2.5.8) for WCAG 2.2.
If you are having a new website created now is a great time to get your website ready for WCAG 2.2 right away. So ask your web designer to contact us now. Our training courses on digital accessibility are already up to date to WCAG 2.2, but we also help web designers with 1-on-1 consultations for additional advice and depth.
